Sift Org Chart

Background

Sift helps transform your people power into organizational superpowers. Sift creates a complete people data story with modern solutions that are as simple as they are powerful. Sift Connect creates instant transparency and allows workplaces to connect their workforces is a strategic initiative through a detailed internal people directory.

Project Goal

To substantially update the Sift Org Chart (3.0) with a better experience that allows users to explore the organization easier and gather more information from the org chart.

Involvement

As a full time team member building out the Sift Connect platform, I have been involved in numerous projects that allowed the platform to mature into an enterprise ready and deployable software. These projects ranged from creating enterprise theming, to creating new attributes (work history, education, and language) on employee profile pages, to a new org chart.

I created two developed iterations of the org chart that have been implemented. I worked as the product owner and product designer for this feature. It involved working closely with the engineering team, project manager, growth, and customer success teams to successfully roll out the new org chart features.

Description

Working closely with a product team and development, I scoped the project through research and NPS feedback. I then conducted UX research and then worked with engineering to understand technical complexity.

From there I did more user interviews and competitive research.  I then started with wireframes and moved into UI design with detailed project specs. Finally, I supported the and development team as these features got built out. I provided the engineers with  documentation and clearly organized design files. This created a quick way to work and allowed for rapid prototyping and development of the product which allowed this feature to be built on time.

Scoping

I worked closely with other members of the product team and Engineering to define a list of must haves, like to haves, and optional features. This document allowed us to prioritize releases for Org Chart 3.0.  This also helped determine the project timeline.
